If you get really scared of it overheating, whack the fans on full blast and full heat to take some heat away from the engine just means you have to have the windows open!

Temp got up to about 105 on the driveway and fan doesn't spin. Hmmmmm

test the fan by bridging the terminals in the fan switch plug. if it comes on, then its either the fan switch or that water isnt getting to the rad so check the thermostst is working as well

In theory, yes. Have I tried it? No. There is no reason why it wouldn't work. Your car fans take a while to heat up on a cold day don't they?

New rad's only £40 so if it is fucked then don't worry. Corsa's have a habbit of getting hot at idle. Thier cooling system isn't that great.

It does work. Had to do it lots of times in my old xe corsa. Not very good in the summer though with hot air blasting at you

it's bound to overheat if idling to long, any car will for gods sake

and yes heaters on full heat and power windows down definetely cools the engine down rapidly without doubt.

Yes, it's a problem with old cars. My Punto will sit in trafic for an hour and the temp needle wont even move... My Corsa will be bouncing the fan on and off every 5 mins.
