Yes you can.
Theres two ways. You can either use the gasket from a 1.6 that doesn't have the SAI, or you can take the mushroom off and then get a plate welded over the hole. The black hoover just unplugs and then you can chuck it in the shed.
Mine hasn't got an EGR or an SAI and runs fine.

easiest way to do it is clamp something in the pipe that comes off the valve i used a spark plug if you put a 4-2-1 manifold on it blanks the whole lot off anyway

its a rally car and its in the bloody way lol
the less things there are in the engine bay, the less things to go wrong and if something does go wrong the less time lost diagnosing it

it was a bodge before the manifold went on if ur keeping the standard manifold then the best thing to do it fill it with some weld as said

You can. A lad round here tapped the manifold and then put a bolt in it.

Depends which 4-2-1. some are made with the takeoff path in the flange bit.

should have just left the valve on till u got the blanking plate, then no tractor noise, lol
just tape up the plug so no water gets in and hide away somewhere

They are two different systems. One puts air into the exhaust, one circulates exhaust gasses.

Strange. It shouldn't miss, as it's nothing to do with the running of the car. I took mine out with no problems.
Have you undone anything else and forgot to put it back? Vacum pipes etc?

no nothing at all.
removed the SAI valve and all its pipework going to the pump, disconnected the pump and its leccy bits.
nothing else
actually theres one tiny little vacuum pipe going from the sai valve to a collage of 3 vaccum pipes, i removed that to obviously.

Yep, I know where you mean. What was unplugged on mine was the big black cylinder and the pipework to the manifold. I don't think any wiring was taken out.

theres a connector that goes onto the black cylinder though, so u must have taken it off.
other than that i did exactly the same as you, how did you blank yours off?

Mines blowing a bit at the mo as it still has the mushroom on the manifold. Put the connector back on the block see if that helps. I don't recall this being taken off.
