If you find what you thought to be correct, then yes. But if it goes to court, and you lose, you'll end up spending a damn site more than £60 imo.

Tough. Should be more aware and be able to talk your way out of it, i was pulled doing 51mph on a 40mph road rushing for my aunties birthday party, and i talked my way out of it. He let me off.

If you were speeding, accept it. I got caught, fair enough, they caught me, not gonna try to argue about it, I shouldnt have been doing it in the first place.

I agree with you mate, the Fife police are REALLY bad for this. My neighbour is in the force, and during a discussion with him while i detailed his car he even admitted that they get told to pull stunts like this. Iv even heard storys about the crouching down behind there cars to catch people, to me this is unacceptable.

Why should the police be visible? you wouldnt speed if you saw the police would you? NO. So the police hiding behind that wall was a good thing! they caught you and thats that. if you dont want 3 points then its obvious, dont speed in the first place. I have nothing against you or anyone else that speeds but when they try and get them selfs out of it with excuses such as "they were hiding" then it gets a bit silly. Good luck with it though

you my friend, are a PLEB!

just pay the fine, take the points and remember not to speed next time you get the urge...

if you do, i've heard from a reliable source (a policeman that pulled me over for speeding) that you can thrash it all you like down country lanes.

They should be visible as its the law, i know its also the law to stay within the legal speed limits. But it makes the speeding offence void if they are not clearly visible.

its going to be impossible to prove they were hiding though, if he had such a problem with the fine then he should of confronted the police at the scene with the mates as witnesses and he may of let him off!

Lawfully, the police are not aloud to hide when carrying out speed checks. They must be visible by a certain distance, which is different for different speed limits. If you are in a 30mph zone, then you have to calculate the thinking distance and braking distance it would take for you to come to halt at a speed of 30mph. The total distance is the distance that the police must be CLEARLY visable by. Obviously if you are in 60mph zone then the distance would be greater.

But I totally agree with what has been said, if you don't want points and a fine, then don't speed.

I saw one around here hiding behind a wall with the gun rested on the wall. There's quite often police down there anyway so most people know.

Sneaky tho.
