F20 etc are the code for the box
theres F10, F12, F13, F15, F20, F28 that are used in corsa's
bump, its just another way of getting the thread back to the top of the forum

I think thats a myth tbh. Its kinda relative, but isn't really right. I think its just the gearbox codes that are vaugly similar to what the boxes can take.

The 'F' signifies a front wheel drive gearbox
While the '20' signifies that its can with stand 200n/m +- of torque.
Its not an exact science but a handy rule of thumb

the "F12" must be a specially rare one, also F10's didnt come on corsas, they al use F13's or F15s.

you sure? I have never taken a F10 off a corsa and Ive broken millions of them. spi come with f13s, it wouldnt make sense for vauxhall to start using F10's 5 years later?
There is a list of gear box codes for engines but I cant be arsed to find it, no doubt someone will find it an prove me wrong though lol.

F18 is found in Vectra's. not sure wat else
Also some gearbox codes have CR on the end, Example F15CR which is a Close Ratio F15 box
