college or try and get an aprentenceship with day release to college, youll build up your nvq in motor vehicle

I do college and it helps you alot, trainee mechanic level 2 and next i'll be body and paint level 1. Do college.

17 i hav 4 b's in computers nothing else i hav seen a nvq in vehicle at the college its 3 levels

apprenticeship at a decent modern garage. my experience with mechanics that are fresh out of college is that they are crap.

if you want to do a l2 or l3 nvq, you dont need any gcse's....
just means you will have to take a l2 keyskills course too

if i were you id stick with computers .. more money in it , possibly more boring?? but never worked with them , i wouldnt do it all again . theres is money in the motortrade and its a handy trade to be in but money is genrally crap alltho there are exceptions

im doing a diploma in computers atm but its shitt and since i got my car av fallen in love with cars badly lol and my dad has his own bodyshop and said he would buy a bigger place and both go at it together

usually a level2 will make a quickfit fitter...
level 3 a mechanic/ technician

Like dave said, mechanics who just goto college and come out with similar/same qualifications as an apprentice who has done day, or like i did 2 week release, are absolulty crap in comparison.
All due to the fact that u dont get the experience like u do in a proper garage.
Id defo go down the apprenticship route,no doubt about it ull come out a better mechanic.

I bet you don't get a decent job in computing with a diploma.
Going to uni and getting a half decent degree after getting your diploma is not the same as getting a job with a diploma.
