Hi all
Just bought a car last month for my fiancee, only a little 1.0l but ideal for a 1st car. we are on a budget as we are getting our own house next month, so we are goin to be doin this all on the minimal amount of money posible. I have basic skills in fibreglassing, spraying and general bodywork.
Plans are:
Gsi bumper
Skirts
Smooth rear bumper
Semi smooth boot
Extended badboy bonnet
Smooth scuttle
15" Alloys
40mm lowered
Spoiler? not sure which 1 yet
Spent so far:
Gsi bumps - £50
M3 Skirts - £30
Lexus lights - £15
Arden blue paint 2 1/2L - £70
Other paint and bodyshop material £80
Astra LS alloys £80
The pics:
1st bought with lights added
Update 1-5-07
Smoothing the rear bumper
with the skirts
Gsi bumper progress
5/5/07
Test fitted the Gsi bumper and made up mounting brackets as the bumper came snapped off , and some primering i have done, plus the smooth rear bumper
Update 7-05-07
Sprayed up the bits in base coat atm, nearly finished the front, little bit more work is need before spraying, and interior bits laquered in metal flake, bling bling
Update 31/5/07
Finally got round to laquering the skirts and rear bumper. still havent finished the front yet got round to fitting the bits to the car, and it looks 100% better already.
Also got a set on Astra LS wheels with pretty much new tyres from the local scrappy for £80 refurbed and sprayied up...
Skirts and bumpers, with the classy steelies
During
After
Update 3/6/07
Finally! pulled my finger out and got th4e gsi bumper sprayied all in 1 afternoon.
Next need to paint mesh grill black, refit fogs and fit to the car. Pics to follow!

Good progress but really think you need to change the skirts to make it all in keeping with the subtle look.

You could try using somefibreglass to recreate the mounts that bolt to the wing and then drill through that for the hole to attach?

Gonna get some plastic and screw it on, maybe attack it with a soldering iron. that repair in fibreglass on that bumper fell off by the time i got home

you using a compressor to spray these things cos if your only using rattle cans you are getting a flipping good finish on them. I was going to say that the bumpers and arches needed more laquer because the colour looked alot flatter then the interior parts but then i read about the flakes.
