met up with planty02 (ian) as we decided we would tint our windows.
out of 2day i have learnt a few important lessons:
1) its alot harder than we first thought
2)impossible to do when its windy
3)bloody annoying.
4) i can see why people get it done proffesionally.
first of all we started on ians rear window but the sheet ended up folding over on its self and would come apart so was wasted . and then we decided to attempt my side windows and well after 2 hours i now have one side window done thats it lol. took forever to get rid of the bubbles then once we thought we got rid of them and we checked outside and there was more . never ending i swear.
so tomorrow i have the other window to do. should be funny. would take pics but its raining. and tbh there isnt much difference as i only went for a light smoke.
sorry for the essay.

I have been told it's a very fiddly job, and it seems you found that out
I imagine it would be very hard: folding, bubbling etc..
At least you attempted it though, well done!

cut out with a bit round the edge to start with, soak the window, place tint on, move about, stick down, get rid of most of the big bubbles, trim down, then smooth over. using sqweegees (i know i spelt it wrong but i dont know how to spell it.) and then my hand with a cloth,

ok well when my borther does mine he wets the window and the tint aswell then wets the window tint when its so to stop it marking it when u wipe it with the squeeg then he uses the heat gun to dry it where some bubbles are. but dont keep to close and t near the edges cus it will sizzle the edges

even when you get them done professionaly they have bubbles in but they dry out after a week or two. also you can speed up the process on the rear window if you turn on the heated elements

easy to do, id u shrink it on the outside ? im guessing you didnt, and on corsas with a spoiler u need to remove the spoiler to shrink it correctly too.

well...... what a complete pain in the arse that was. just spent 2+ hours trying to do the other window and well both windows now have nothing on. took it off as the side i was doing creased first attempt so cut out a another piece and tried it a different way. all was going well and then a bloody huge crease down the middle GRRR so yeah that was a waste of £15. but i have learnt one valuable lesson.

125 quid for 5 windows down my way
definitely worth it and a guarantee if any bubbles appear.

The film you buy from halfords is wank though and never will be perfect.
I paid £150 to get my 3 rear windows tinted. The guy used 3m film aswell and the quality of it is 100 times better than any other film imo. Doesnt fade and is guarenteed etc....
I would just find someone who uses the 3m film and pay them to do it. Unless you want it to look shit and go purple after a while
