Did my alternator bracket today, and found out that i've been driving around with 24 teeth missing off my timing belt.

Timing belt snap would have been nasty.
Am I right in thinking the timing belt is the cam belt?

I'm not calling you a liar Josh, but my logic gland is telling me that it's actually impossible for the engine to run with 24 teeth missing from the cambelt

I can't understand it either, my tutors at college said my engine shouldn't even be running anymore, the college have kept it to show students so i'll try and get pictures.

I suppose if the belt has one tooth missing in every 3, in a neat pattern, it's just about possible, but even then, VERY lucky.
