Gotta be in the running for one of the more random posts on here, but every time i use the tin opener we have I think about putting this post up  Anyway, has anyone good a tin opener that works well, and lasts than more than about 2 days?! Im fed up of them not working Where did u get them from?! Or am I just cursed when it comes to trying to make tuna and sweetcorn?!

My g/f can't use ours at all. There's a little nack to it. You need to squeeze it tight and apply a bit of pressure.

Ours is very tempromental, sometimes it works fine, other times it can take about 5 minutes to open the can cos the wheels just spin, i gotta pierce the lid about 20 times all the way around then use a fork to prize the top up and off

Are electric ones actually decent? I always imagined t'd be harder to get them to grip the can.

We've got a good one, its black, big black handles, and a big black turny bit.
Dont know where it came from, but ill assume it was either sainsburys or asda

We've got a new one, it's shit, the onld one you could use 2 ways, so you could cut the top off leaving the sharp edge 'up' or the other way so you could do it so it's like a tin with a ringpull. The new one can only do the sharp edge way. Stupid.

@ this thread, even though I hoped it would turn into something useful I never thought it would! I will investigate electric tin openers now, especially as im getting a new kitchen fitted in the next month Cheers guys, next time i have a problem opening a tin I know where to come. Much love xx

I brought forward the idea of having one for our staffroom at work, everyone loves it.
Only about £6 from Argos for a cheapo one!

Only problem with electric ones is they topple over when opening a big can. Unless you mount it on the wall obviously!
