why do you want to convert to .DUP?

Nero will do everything automatically

I Know im being a pain but i still cant do it, What Nero programme do I need? I have nero express but that wont let me select the .AVI file to burn to the DVD disk

when selecting files, select from 'all files'

When I select "all files" The .AVi files come up but when I click it it says " no compatible files found"

I use winavi video convertor to make the dvd data files, then use nero to burn a data dvd. Never had anyproblems with this method.

Some dvd players will play .avi straight off as a data disc. If not then use DVD santa
