The difference descibed should mainly occure due to the fact that the corsa with x16xe had 17's

As said.
C16 gives more power throughout the rev range. 3bhp is just the peak power. C16 pulls much harder mid revs.
Add that difference, plus the fact he's on 17"s, you should comfortably pull away.

Still not seen an X16 make the same power as a C16 with power box.
Definatly not with a manztel.
Never seen 1 mantzel on an x16 make over 140bhp with minimal other mods. I've seen a fair few C16's make it into the 140's, some in the 150's with the same mods on as an X16.
This argument is like the Corsa Vs 106 argument.

best of both worlds:
an x16xe with a c16xe head. great head design and doesnt drink oil or have slappy pistons

Has anyone done that yet with some results.
Thats the only thing about the C16, early ones pistons were too small for the blocks Later ones had piston ring issues.
Even rebuilt ones seem to suffer the same problems. Still, rebuilt the mofo into a specced TB engine and no worries.
Donnas went blew up once due to the cam belt tensioners letting go. IT got rebuilt, then blew up again. That was a piston/block/ring issue.

and yes, the c16xe head on an x16xe/x16xel block is a tried and tested combination, I have done a few.

What kinda differences did you notice?
Would be interesting seeing as the xel is the high torque low power version, compared to the high powered, high torque C16.
