Right in the process of modding the Vectra already. Not bothered about wheels and suspension at the moment just want more USEABLE power. Cambelt is done before any mods take place

So i have already got
Induction Kit
Remus straight through centre section,
Powerflow backbox Been fitted as we speak.

In the process of finding
4bar FPR
3-litre cams

When all these fitted gonna get it remapped so, as the title says places and rough price

Cheers in advance

Wayne Schofield of Chipwizards.co.uk is closer to you I think, in Rochdale. He did the map on my X16XE ECU and has a lot of happy customers, £475 I think he charges most times, mapped on rollers with a graph.

I agree. They quoted me £275 for live mapping the 1.6 ECU. They get a lot of good reviews on PassionFord.

I know. Nealr fell off my chair.

That included everything aswell. They take the EPROM out of the ECU, fit a re-programmable chip with the standard map. Take it for a blast and change a few things.

Is it an SRi or a GSi?

SRi is "174bhp", GSi is "192bhp" but they tend to make a little more.

£275 is good, but I'd question if it's a generic map, or a map to suit your mods for that money.

tbh mate for the gains you will get i wouldnt bother with a remap on a n/a engine, id only get it remapped if your fitting really high duration cams or throttle bodies

Wayne (chipwizards) will do it to suit your mods, and how you want it to drive, so he'll sacrifice BHP for mid range torque of you want, so it's worth paying the extra if MSD don't do that.

this is what the web says for now
"All our re-mapping starts with us test driving the car and then locating and removing the ECU from your car. Then we remove the original EPROM (chip),
Put it in our programmer and download the original files. Next we archive the original files.
Then we the optimise (depending on car and ECU) the fuel, boost pressure, timing, smoke limiter, torque limiter, speed limiter, overboost timing, injection correction, EGR valve control & other maps within your cars EPROM. Only a few of the maps relate to the torque, power-delivery and fuel consumption of the engine.

The new optimised data will be programmed onto a new EPROM.

After a socket is installed into your ECU, we insert the new EPROM.
After that we reinstall the ECU into your car.
Now, the car is ready for the final test drive, where we will fine tune the maps on the road. "

a lot of places say a lot of things, most of it is bullshit, they can get rid of flatspots, but the flatspot is probably there for a different reason

Iain - They take in account of the mods you have on the engine.
