is the inlet manifold and the sump the same on the xe and let engines

yes i think they are.the block is the same so the sump should be.and the head is the same so the inlet should be too.the only difference there may be is where the power cap/let top hat goes on

i know yeh lol.its a nice colour.different too.works well with the blue bits i think.

another question i know the engine looms are not same but car i keep my dash loom. and i heard a f28 is c??t to fit has any one fitted one or had one done.

i'm pretty sure the inlets are the same.daz 1985 has a f28 fitted he will know how to do them.you could always use an f20 they are a stronger gear box and less hassle

f28 is stronger but needs new mounts and not as easy to fit

yep they are 6 speed don't know how much they weigh though

they are a bit heavier than f20 but wouldnt waste time fitting something that will need changed often and go for an f28

inlet is same, head is near as damn it the same just had sodium filled exhaust valves, inlet manifold is same, throttle body is different, cams are different, afm is different, loom is different etc

the valves are the same.
xe and let exhaust valves both are sodium filled, they are the same part numbers.

I found it easier drop the engine to put on the box. such a pain in the arse struggling manouve something like that around.

so f28 is the better box yea ?. but just little bit harder to fit. do i keep the calibra gera linkage on or use corsa one. sorry to be pain just want to find these bit out before i start lol

f28 is not really harder to fit gearlinkage takes a bit of shortening and welding, but its far better box than f28. i dont know many people to have destroyed an f28

Wouldnt entertain f20 for a let.

Plus your through the gears so quick you need 6 of them imo
