here's a poor nova that got flooded...

but with a bit of wd40, it startup when on dry land
Newbury has never flooded in my lifetime. The old lady next door tells me its never flooded in HER lifetime either.

However, I get home from work today to find this...

Turns out the water was even higher than that diring the day. You can see by the watermark on the back of the passenger seat how high it actually was.

My mates Escort was parked next to it. He's only had it a day or two and its the nicest car he's ever owned. I really feel for him TBH, he was gutted. Funniest thing was though that once we got into the river which used to be our cul-de-sac and pushed them onto dry land, the Escort emptied immediately, and the bastid Nova didnt leak a drop. I ended up having to stab loads of holes in the bottom of the drain plugs to empty the water out thanks to the sound deadening.

I set about the Nove with a can of WD and she fired up on 3, then eventually 4 so im chuffed that the water didnt make it up to the carb!

The water also got into the house, luckily only by about an inch so all its done is kill the carpets. Still rather be doing things this weekend than gutting the ground floor
