Spent today with a mechanic fitting a mantzel replica, when fitting it we discovered the blanking plate that came with it was for blocking off the old tb..so we haven't blanked off the egr valve..there are still some hoses that we dont know where they are to be connected. Could this problem be from not blocking the egr off? Thanks

the plate with it is meant to be for the tb bracket the egr is connected to that just leave the egr plugged in or you can get a blanking plate for the egr from vaux

you should have 2 connections on the new inlet. the big one goes the the map sensor. the green plug thing next to your water bottle on the bulk head. the small one should be T pieced one goes to the fpr on the fuel rail the other one goes the the sensor that was screwed to the side of the old inlet it should have a hard plstic pipe coming off it going behind the engine. the other small pipe off the rocker cover can just be left dis connected and the thicker pipe off the rocker cover needs connecting to some sort of breather filter. hope you understood that

Whens it running lumpy? At idle?
You've probably left a hose leaking air, or not connected the vaccum hose to the fuel pressure regulator.

Does sound like a vaccum problem.

Can you hear any hissing?

yeh there is hissing mate, i've not got the t-piece of hose yet tho to connect the fpr to so it's just the map sensor that's connected to the inlet..and the pipe on the side of it..do u know what's best to use for the t-piece hose?

If it's still lumpy after all that. The box hasn't sealed all the way round. Use lots of gasket pasteon both sides then leave it over night.

he means join them together mate!!the two pipes that originally came off the t/b need to be literally joined together. No need for them to go back on the t/b.

lol i thinkso, does this mean it's drawing in air from where the inlets join? We tried a few times spraying loads of wd around the inlet, didn't seem like it was drawing air in there hmmm

yeh thinkso, i'll upload the most recent photographs tomorrow...but i've got the map sensor going into the bigger connection, got the fpr + brake servo connection in a t-piece, goin to the smaller conn. on the inlet...the coolant hoses are together, only thing i dont have is a breather for the rocker hose...and an afm is it? Just where the filter is
