I've got my headphones plugged into my PC at work. I've got the volume up full on winamp and in the windows volume controls, but it's still pretty low.

Any way of boosting it up a bit?

Nah, that was all turned off. I'm currently using the preamp on the equaliser to give it a little more boost, but not much

Wave volume maybe?

If you do one click it might appear to be on full, but do a double click & it brings up a few other which might not be

(Im talking about the speaker icon in the bottom right)

Maybe I should point out that i'm not an idiot

I've used all the standard methods of turning it up. I think i'm more asking if there is a little bit of software maybe?

If you install ffdshow and use that as the codec on whatever you are playing you can up the volume on this.

Sounds stupid as well but you never know, try using the headphone socket on the back of the PC if you are using the ones on the front? Might be faulty.

There is your answer, PSP headphones are quieter than standard headphones so buy some proper headphones.

That'd probably explain it I'll buy some more at lunch.

I just assumed with them being Sony that they'd be decent

You can increase the volume of /mp3 / .wav files (etc) using Goldwave - but you have to do each one individually and save it as you are editting the file

Try starting WinAmp and set the 'db' slider to maximum (+12 db). Its on the left side near the Equalizer controls! Fixed my low sound probs!
