Considering getting a new inlet for my gsi.
Considering both or these are there any preferences as to which to go for. If so could you provide evidance to back it up
Also how noticable is the change in driving experiance once fitted?
Many thanks Gavin

What would the differences be? One provide more low down power?

I'm lead to believe on mantzels, dblias etc the power is moved up the rev range so low down torque is affected where as the lexmaul keeps low down torque but the power increase is increased throughout the rev range

hmm wouldnt mind there not been an increase low down but i dont really want to lose any
Might try and hold out and get hold on a lexmaul.........

i had a dbilas- i lost no torque and gained a better more free flowing engine through out the rev range. completely changed the car.
the dbilas has been said before to be the best quality made, but the differences in power between any of the performance inlets is marginal without a re map and other modifications.
the lexmaul is by far the easiest to fit and retains all the original EGR system etc and apparently has the best of all instances by keeping normal drivability and not having to use the top side of the rev range for best performance as with the dbilas and mantzel etc most of the power is at 4.5k-5k upwards whereas iirc the lexmaul comes in nearer 4.
other differences are that the mantzel's generally come with an EGR feed pipe which can often be a problem with the DBilas as the Dbilas often run with an EM light due to a blanked EGR and not having a feed pipe to the inlet-
so in short they are all much of a muchness-
Dbilas- Good quality manufacturing- look tidy in the engine bay- add a good figure of BHP and change the performance of the car alot, but dont have an EGR feed, are not the easiest of things to install.
Mantzel- same as DBilas- but have and EGR feed, but same problems with fitting.
Lexmaul- probably best of all worlds, easy to fit, retain the EGR and offer a better range of torque available from lower down the revs.

Lexmaul will give good gains across a decent range of rpm. Best option for a track car IMO.
Mantzel type will loose some low rpm power but gain nice power at high rpm when the air is flowing fast enough.
I'd go for the mantzel type myself as they relocate the throttle body to a much better location and they also free up some room under the bonnet
