The 18 Championship Trophies must mean nothing these days I guess due to the league changing its name?

In that case then United can GTF, as the Premiership had an OFFICIAL name change this year.

Thanks for confirming that Nath, all jokes can not GTF

And?!

Trophy has changed from the original over the years, name makes the difference (to some), which in their case now makes this a whole new competition obviously.

As long as we stay up around there, keep going on good runs in the European cup and get moved into a new 78k seater stadium I'll settle with not winning it for a few more seasons.

I think the other top 3 might have the same idea to be honest.

I'm not sure if it'll be as easy for them as you make it sound.

The difference is United and Chelsea (more so Chelsea IMO) dont need anymore world class players as they dont really have a weaklink in the side. So adding more worldclass player wont make them a huge amount better really.

They have every chance, it's 1 from 4 for the next few seasons unless another Chelsea come on the scene.

Fair point.

However there have been many times I’ve watched a Liverpool game where the pre match comments have been "They're got quality all over the park" and "Benitez has such a quality set of midfield and strikers to choose from...i can't understand why he can't pull them together and get more consistency"

Having "Worldclass players" is brilliant, but if you can't get them to work hard and graft as a team for 38 league games then it’s not much use.

You obviiously havent watched them that much or you'd realise that the only reason we havent been further up there is the lack of goals we have scored over the last few seasons.

Defensively we have been the best (or there abouts) the best team in the league for a few seasons now, but our attacking ability has bee fairly poor. Hopefully with this years signings in this position it will be different.

You might have a slightly bias opinion on your teams performance during the "past few seasons"

IMO....the best team/club wins the league.

I guess we'll see at the end of the season.

I never said we were the best club, I said (one of) the best defensively. Want to argue that? If so then check goals conceeded before you do

And then go and check goals scored and tell me that isnt the reason we werent up there

Fancy a tenner on it then?

BTW, i wasn't argueing I was meerly pointing out my views on the premiership and that i think consistency wins the league.

Good luck to Liverpool this season though. They've spent alot and will be expected to take 2nd place at least i'm sure.
