Welcome aboard

Can do alot worse than a 1.0 12v as a first car, however as you can imagine they are a bit on the slow side. If you can stretch to it the 1.2 16v engine'd ones are generally better. Don't tend to struggle as much on the motorway etc, plus you get a better spec overall with the interior etc

Either a SXI or Club would be a good choice

The grey interior looks a bit drab in the GLS model, really is money well spent buying a better spec'd one

How much is the 1.0 up for?

Welcome mate.......

Even though you are young you will be cursing the day you bought the 1.0 12v, go for the 1.2 16v, a better option and won't sting you much on insurance etc

...if you're planning on modding, then the subtler the better.

...and don't spend too much on it. You'll only regret it in a year when you want to sell for something faster.

this man speaks sense! Or only buy mods that can be removed and re sold when you go to sell!

I spent a lot on making my 1.0 nice

Loved it though..

Not a bad car really mate, but as said if you can get hold of a 1.2 16v it'd be better.

Hi mate

I would try and get a 1.2 16v, i had one for a first car and it did me well. First years insurance will be expensive on whatever you buy, but you have to start somewhere

As for problems the only things that seem to crop up on the 1.0 and 1.2 16v on a regular basis a couple of sensors on the engine like to play silly buggers sometimes . Namely the Idle Control Valve (ICV) and the Air Flow Meter (AFM).

These are easily replaced though and as long as toy dont do to vauxhall then they dont cost the earth.
