Had some good news this morning ......

Firstly I sold the cooper s for £9750 - little bit less than I wanted but Im still well happy with that. Renault have sold it off to another garage for me so I can literally drive the mini to the garage and drive away with the renault... saves lots of hassle.

Secondly I can pick up the R27 next friday Almost a month earlier than I expected. What I really couldnt believe is that my insurance is only going up by £46 - I thought they were going to screw me considering it is a higher group car, higher value and a bigger engine.

Now all I need to do is put my private plate on retention and get a new one issued (and get raped by the dvla for £105 in the process), also need to take the system out of the mini and put all the standard shiite back in.

Cant wait now

Thanks for the comments- looking around all the car forums and magazines I could find very few bad comments regarding the r27... the worst people had to say about it was "Its french".... hopefully the reliability is better on these modern clios

What are your thoughts on running in... Everyone in the world of renault, including my dealership and forums seems to recommend running in the r27 hard after the first 100 miles -- obviously warming the engine up well before you give it any revs. Probably different for the r26 with the turbo though

Few more pics - this car isnt mine (mine is still on a boat) but it is pretty much identicle-- still not sure about all the stickers - kind of nice to have them on a limited edition car but I will make a desicion on the stickers when I have lived with the car for a while.

What are peoples thoughts on the graphics?

I'm just going from the handbook really, i have had new cars before and always ran them in, better reliability and fuel economy in the long run.
Handbook says 600 miles @ less then 78mph and under 3k rpm (not been over 60mph yet)
Then less than 100mph and under 5k rpm until 1000 miles.

i am trying very very very hard to be good but i dont think its gonna last much longer!

Really - Im not entirely sure on the back of the car

This sounds weird but for some reason the r27 really doesnt come out well in photos- you cant really see the curves and flares in the body work untill you see it in the flesh.

I dont think it is a particularly pretty car to look at, but the test drive I had in it was amazing and that along with the seats were the things that really drew me towards buying one.

At least I wont see 100 of the r27s everytime I leave my house like I did with the mini.

The seats are quality - tbh they are probably one of the biggest reasons I went for the car -- silly I know but none of the other cars I test drove had anything close to being as good as those recaros.

Awsome looking car mate!

As i said in the Renault sport thread on the motorway when doing 80 mph these things rev at 4.5K My old scoobys did this and it pissed me off big time.

EVO magazine had a long termer and they noted it last month. There's is a standard 197 but i'm sure it would be the same.

IF it was me i would have got the Megane F1 R26.
