Right Gaz has just been parked outside my house on double yellows. He's parked there now the majority of times he comes to my house and we're talking over three years.

On the lamposts there are signs "After 8pm till 8am" for the parking.

Now a police man has just knocked on the door, and abrubtly asked my dad to ask gaz to move the car, no please or thankyou, although there's signs on the lamposts saying he can park there...

Would it be right to ring the local police department and complain? Both about them being in the wrong and the fact that their attitude stinks?

I was under the impression that the signs only applied to single yellows, doubles were 24 hour

I don't think you'd get very far regarding the lack of a please/thankyou either, more trouble than it's worth really.

Don't you have to be disabled to park on double yellow lines. Maybe it means if you are disabled that between 8pm and 8am you can park there.

Although i've parked there before and never got shouted at.

There's signs on each lampost though saying you can park there

Police have driven past millions of times and never stopped anyone before.

Apparantly there were 2 police men snooping around his car so i have the suspision cos its modified?

Hmm, I think the signs are only relevant when it's single lines, but not sure.

You'd never prove they were only doing it because of Gaz's car either.

they cant do fuck all, dont get concerned with it, just say the guy whos car it is is drunk and you wouldnt want to break the law by driving the car with no insurance

I cant agree more and it wont be until the public turn on the police that they will realise what a crappy system they are doing. We hd a customer in today with all his windows smashed. and asked the olice what he could to deter it or teach em a lesson and their reply was nothing. The fact no one has noticed before has nothing to do with it.

Single yellows have the signs to tell you the conditions.

Double yellow means no parking, ever. You need to move the car.

new parking spot for me it not very appertising - Glass everywhere from last weeks victims car.

My understanding of the lines are now clear though.

Shame your not told every Road law in school - IMO its more important then what shakespere did 3 hundred millions years ago!
