Now this thread/post isn't meant to be inflammatory, but he couldn't catch me.

Saying that it was only on one stretch of dual carriageway, so no bends were involved. But above 50mph he was struggling to stay with me, til eventually I hit about 80/90mph and he had pulled back in behind me.

Yes he was trying, how do I know this? Because he gave me a flash of the headlights.

Not enitrely.

Not sure what it's putting out tbh. But it has Scorpion full exhaust system, enclosed induction kit, and forge recirc valve.

ah right my mates standard i could pull away very slightly, with the same mods as you and de-cat at about 100 he'd pull milimeters . well done !

120bhp vs 156bhp-ish (Say mine is 165 or something)

The 106 will weigh a fair bit less I reckon. Close either way.

Ive never had a play with one yet but my cupra feels a wee bitty faster than my old gti, pissed all over a new civic type R last nite tho, not impressed with them at all

Is there much difference between the last CTR and the current one? Only i've raced an older one and couldn't catch it. This was on another dual carriageway, and it got to about 110mph and he left me.

Gregor - yea its standard apart from a catback exhaust, it can keep in front of my mates clio 182 as well

Nath the newer one is alot heavier then the older model afaik
