They're more expensive than 2 bedroom flats up here, then you have to pay for land as well so i doubt it will take off up here. Might in places where the housing market has all but shut out first time buyers!

Flats cost between £100,000 and £125,000, two-bedroom houses cost £132,500-£139,500 and three-bedroom houses are £150,000.

I's agree alot of the big House Builders now use timber frames in the lesser quality, large volume developments. However Tradional Building techniques are still employed by a lot of the better Quality Developers/House Builders

Good for you, but these were introduced for use in the south east where you have to spend £250k+ for a 2 bed flat in the middle of no where.

But what about the cost of the land?????
To buy the land/garden space to have one of these, your looking at £20k+ straight away....
Then you've got to buy the "house"
Then build it
Then furnish it, put electrics, water, heating in. DOn't forget the bills to get connection to the sewer, phone lines, electricity lines...
Can't see the taking off down here.

Where the land would probably cost almost as much as the house itself
