That looks alright at the moment - I wonder what the mileage is.
The red isn't even hugely faded - I know dealers give cars a wash and what not, but mine is faded and is a 2000 plate.
I might buy it

Well GSI's are getting abit rare now, so I reckon restoring one is the better option, wish I had done that with my old SRi, but it got scrapped because I didn't have the room or money, and it had chassis rot.

If I had the money I would restore it to its original condition and use it as a everyday car. Then I would turn my 1.2 into a 2.0 track day car. Just wish I had the money.

Stavs can you understand why people want to split these, because I know a guy in Bedford who got a GSi from a scrappy for £100, restored it on a budget of £600 as he did most the work himself and sold it for £1,500.

By the time you've got it back to showroom condition inside/out and underneath, you'd have spent a fortune. They're not that rare either, i see loads of them about. Take PVS or trax for example, there's still alot of people keeping them nice and clean.

True but not many of them are in original condition, they have Astra GSi engines in them or LET's, I never see that many in original condition.

this is why I'd split it. If it had 'to the shops and back' miles i'd be backing anyone to buy and restore it. Also, if you've driven a standard jessy for any amount of time you'd want to change the suspension at least.

That's all I see, and i'm sounding old but I like the looks of the GSi as a standard car, they're quick as standard, and if you want to XE/ LET a car then do it to the slow 1.0/ 1.2's like me.

Well after driving a R33 Skyline GTS-t I felt what a real car's like, but a GSi is close enough to me after a fast but dodgy SRi and now a 1.2 which is slow as fuck.
