Think the car will still fail cos the abs lamp needs to illuminate when the ignition is on, unless the tester doesn't notice it.

What the spec of the engine? Is anything adjustable (ECU, FPR etc?)

put abit of redex in the tank and give it a good run before the test to get it nice and hot.

I got my emissions down to the above values by doing that for the past 2 MOTs

the car needs to be up to temp, and when its had a good run the emissions will be lower.

Is the CAT out? Is so start on sensors

for interest - my skyline passed recently with

CO - 0.26%
HC - 194ppm

taking the bulb out wont work, as the bulb has to illuminate with the ignition, then go out..

I would try a coolant temp sensor for emmisions.. All 3 results say runing rich, rich and rich..

Its rare for the ABS sensors to go, mine came on on my GSI all i done was took the sensors off both side and wire brushed the teeth on the hub behind the disc. might be worth a try

My mate had a dodgy airbag in his Corsa, it didnt work thus putting the lighton. We tried EVERYTHING to make the bulb go out, reset the ECU, Airbag ECU unpluged etc. In the end, I got a 9V bulb, 9V battery and a device that lit up an LED (desoldered the LED and put the 9V bulb in place) when it was provided with current, then switched off 3 seconds later - some kids xmas toy i think - poiundland.

Wired to ignition live, taped light to back of insrument cluster, tucked battery etc behind dash - job was a goodun.
