Why dont they just have a united kingdom team, that includes scotland wales etc.
they'd have more choice, more support.
scotland and wales arent even classed as countries are they? they are even under the same govt.

The reason is the team would be something along the lines of this -
----------------Gordon-------------------
---Neville-----Terry----Rio-------Cole--
Beckham--Hargreaves--Gerrard--Cole
------------Rooney---Owen--------------
Bellamy might make the bench and that would be about it

This has been discussed in some detail with the olympics. Was a topic on inside sport not too long ago. Scotland etc want to keep there international status as they know most of there players wouldn't get into the uk team as it'd be full of english
Why would you want to dull down more traditions anyway ffs, should we also call it the UK and eligable immigrants team to be pc

Forster will struggle while he is at Unied tbh, as wont get much first team action ahead of VDS.

Craig Gordon is a better keeper than anything England have to offer, behave yourselves.

BTW - Why would I have blinkers on?
Carson isnt really a Liverpool player and wont play for us again from what I can tell, so thats not blinkering my view. And Im certainly not an England fan (you may of noticed) so that isnt blinkering it either.
Im going on what Ive seen of both keepers, and although Gordon does look a decent keeper, I dont think he is as good as Carson is.

Craig gordon is imo the best british goalkeeper around, top drawer keeper.
Carson hasnt proved himself, neither has foster.
Gordon has been consistantly top class since he broke into the Hearts team, resulting in the 9m fee paid for him

Gordon has proved himself more than Carson how?!!?
And if you're going by value then Carson is going to Villa for £10m next month
