Have just picked up my little winter runabout and am well chuffed with it!
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=250191358030&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=015
Spotted it the other night & called the seller who agreed to let it go early for £250. Its only a 1.0l, but the shell's in pretty good condition and might make a good project come next summer
See below for pics

Neah, less to go wrong with this one! Besides its only for winter, then it will probably be changed or sold.

I know, but the size of it in the engine bay etc.
Ok, looks more ridiculous than an X10XE.

Hey Ste, do you know what's involved in converting the 1.0l to an XE in comparison to doing a GSi? I figure the tank & pump will be needed, what's the best OEM brake setup to use? And would it need any additional strengthening over that for a GSi?
Also, what about ARB's etc?

Yes, the plates have been noted, and will be getting dealt with before someone else does without invitation!

eermmm...
fuel tank + pump
16v brakes are good enough, as nova's only light
if the shell's good welding's not needed, but always adviseable, it is worth the extra work tbh, even though my 2.0 converted 1l wasn't welded
just have a gte/gsi rear arb, leave the front off

Saying that, the rest of the car bar a few spots looks pretty sound.
Winter hack, summer XE conversion Get some new doors though Might as well go straight for fibreglass ones

Yeah doors are shagged, but I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled for some. I was more after something that had a decent shell to start.
If I do keep it, 1st thing will be to get the whole lot sorted bodywise, and a full respray inside & out.
Cheers for that Ste! Would you also reccomend changing the brake servo for one off a GSi or Astra or something?

servo doesn't affect braking...
difference between 1.l and gte/gsi is slightly bigger, only thing is with the smaller 1l one, you'll have the press the brakes slightly harder to brake the same as a gte with same brakes.. so unless your a pussy and cant press hard on the brakes it's not worth it

but i would advise upgrading the 1l caliper's to 16v stuff now..
the brakes are shocking on them, and i wouldn't trust them

Honestly, im unsure about the doors, heard they arn't great fitters, but save quite a bit of weight.
Prob worth checking PNG for those questions.

Looks like there may be another similar one that might go cheap:
