ESPN have come out saying that they are interesting in joining the bidding for the right to show Premiership games in Europe once the current deal ends with Sky and Setanta in 2009/10. That 3 season contract cost them £1.7bn, £4.8m a game for Sky, and £2.8m a game for Setanta. Plus they sold the overseas rights for an extra £625m.

So surely with another huge company coming in for the rights then the value is going to sky rocket?!!

I wish we could get a piece of that action, whilst we're tailing £2 million the bottom placed team in the EPL is recieving £35 million

Nah, the Prem only allow a certain amount of games to be PPV and the rest have to be free to view (well, other than your monthly sub).

Sky have never really had any other big players in there competing for them, so although the prices are high I think it could be much much higher once another big player comes in for them.
