90 bhp,196 lbft torque
0-60 around 9.5 secs
50-60 to gallon
51p tuning guide on ebay give 0-60 of 8.5 secs with a load more drivability!!,can take power upto 120 bhp by doing the above apparently, mine goes really well!

i got a phase 2 to replace a v6 4 motion golf and love it!

oh and group 5 insurance

Iv got 45bhp to move 1200kg tho mark. So when stopping and starting it soon knocks the mpg down. Once cruising the car is fine lol

Cheers Leekeefy. Whats that 51 tuning guide? Also is mileage an issue on these and any common problems?

I'm currently looking to buy a PH3 HDi.

Looking at anywhere between £2500-£3500 for a good one with reaonable mileage (80k-100k).

Look for the Meridian (5 Door) or D-Turbo (3 Door) in Moonstone Blue

you can buy a tuning guide on ebay for 51pence!!!i did and its a different car,

as for milage high miles is ok with service history and if you get 1 thats had the belts changed thats a bonus,

the d-turbo or d turbo s are the 1's to got for as the spec is good,a/c e/w ect

Insurance is fairly cheap as well, about the same as a 1.2 corsa b for me for some reason.

Torque is more like 160, very few of the remaining unmolested Phase 1s will do 9.5s to 60 and if you're driving them that hard won't do over 50 to the gallon. A better estimate would be more like 40-50mpg if you drive carefully, and more like 35-40 if you hoon it around. I've been running one for the last 4 years (so I know how good they are with fuel), it's never had any problems. They're louder and slower than the HDi's, but they've got more character and they're indestructable. Oh, and they're cheap as chips to buy.

TBF, 400 miles a month isn't a lot. Average mileage a year for most people is 12000 miles, being 1000 a month.

my opinion would be buy a cheap 5 dr diesel turbo to scoot about in.

newer 306s still make stupid money for wot they are, the cars have alot of faults which commonly go wrong and can cost alto of money.

the diesel turbo will have the same engine as the dturbo and similar spec without sports interior and kit etc, but the difference in price makes up for it, with the 5drs being less likely to have been fcked about with by some 17 year old..

phase ones go for peanuts

i bought one because i do 2k per month

Fucking hell, 400 miles a month Just seems so small to complain about fuel costs.

I do that in 3 days on a busy week at work. 120 miles on the clock today.

Although i have noticed a fair few 306s on the motorway laterly.

I've a petrol 307. Not had a problem with it in the 3 months i've owned it. Just hitting 5.5k now.

Ignore this,,, **dreamer alert**

It does NOT do 0-60 in 9.5 secs as standard, 50-60mpg if you are going downhill

ive had a d-turbo, not as quick as people say out they are, they defo dont do 50-60mpg more like 35-40mpg (same as a 1.4sport).

expensive when it went wrong though.

comfy and drive well on motorways due to ther torgue. fair big inside aswell, miss the space in mine compaired to the corsa.

TBH mine isn't really much more economical than the Laguna, which is a petrol.
They are comfortable, and don't handle badly.

Still not that much TBH. As I put earlier, average for most people is 1000 a month, so you're still under that. You'd want to be doing Colins sort of mileage to really save yourself some money.

if he does 400 miles hes still going to save money. End of the day they are cheap, if stuff go wrong there are plenty in the scrapyards to source parts etc. Cost me 300 quid for an engine and to have it fitted.(hole in the rad, cooked engine)
make sure you tweek it if you get one, but not too much, after a tweek the turbo comes in earlier etc and they benefit well from the 20ish extra bhp, alot nicer to drive.
I went from 1.2 8v to mine and i've never regretted it, so much better to drive all around, can't think of one way the corsa is better.
