Looking at 8k or 9.5k if already converted.

Doing 2.5k on average a month and my Dad is kind of talking me into getting shut of my car and getting something on LPG. Pug 307 is perfect for my needs so would have to be the same size and have 5 doors.

Anyone got any ideas? I'm thinking of a VW Golf or Audi A3. Not bothered about age as long as it's low miles and i can keep it for a few years. Obviously i'll lose any warranty when the conversion is done hence the sale of the pug.

Should get a fuel allowance eventually but right now i'm bottom of the company no matter how nice i am to the boss

And your car is diesel? You must be caning it!
LPG may be cheaper, but you'll use more of it and you won't achieve anything. You'll pay £1200+ to save probavbly £15 a week.

My calibra was LPG'd. On the dyno it was 4bhp down on petrol (so bugger all difference really)

I now have a 1.9 Diesel and wished I had got another LPG car to be honest

If your thinking of running a car on LPG buy a car thats already converted as they tend not to sell for more compared to a normal petrol car.

Possibly a factory fitted conversion would be more reliable than an aftermarket kit.

LPG is fucking in-efficient. You get better MPG out of heavier fuels so diesel is the obvious choice. But it costs more as it contains more energy, but bio is 55p/litre in most places and if you find a filling station then you're sorted.

Correct me if im wrong but I thought the government have pledged to keep LPG as a "Half way" fuel, so the prices have only risen in line with Petrol!

And yes it is in-efficient (I got 29mpg compared to 33mpg on petrol) but it cost £18 to fill the tank compared to £45 with the petrol..... Which = very cheap motoring!!! My VAG Weisel 1.9 does 50mpg but is still no where near as cheap to run at the Calibra was.

Size is not a big issue really. Just it's nice not to have to borrow Mums car when i'm doing the granny run. Nan has gone into full time nursing now but still like to bring her home for weekends even if it's just me to spend time with her.

Will the Lupo do 80 miles to a gallon is taken easy?

I'm just fed up of putting £60 - £70 a week in fuel per week. Hate this goverment!
