When I was in work yesterday I received a text of a mate saying "Ive just seen you by your car! I waved but i dont think you saw me!"
I was nowhere near my car at the time and hadnt been all day. I have just spoke to her now and she said a lad that looked just like me was looking through the windows in my car but was wearing a black top and jeans. Now everyone in my work wears bright red overalls so Its definately not a workmate she spotted. Im just worried now that my car is about to become a target for theft. The car is alarmed but we have to park too far away from the workplace to be able to hear it and the area is pretty quiet. Any ideas of things I could possibly do to prevent a possible break in? We are not allowed to park on works premisis either

don't take it to work for a bit, get a lift in, bus/train so its less obvious the car is available all the time

nice suggestion timberland.
Its parked just off the main road but its quite difficult to see up the road. I can see my car from works carpark but im only in the car park about 4 or 5 times a day when bringing customers cars into the workshop. Its quite dificult to leave my car at home as noone lives my way. If the weather was better i would bike it. I might have a word with the boss and ask him if i can just park it in the carpark for a bit

Iv done this before, Iasked someone if i could park in there driveway while at work and if i gave them £20 per week would it be ok. Worth a shot if its gonna save you £100 for cd player, £90 worth of cd's and £40 for a window?

I can suggest:
Keeping anything like loose change, facia panel for radio, coats or any loose items of potential value, either out of the car or hidden (eg facia panel in glovebox)
Fit a secondary alarm (if already haven't) or fit an alarm if car hasn't got a factory alarm.
And if it's old enough to not have an immobiliser get one fitted (ideally with the alarm)
Get a steering (crook) lock, halfords do some good ones.
Their a few things i can suggest.
Cheers

Its got the sensors on show and an led on the dash so fingers crossed it was/will be enough of a deterrent. Ill just put the word out around work that someone was possibly snooping about along the road. Im going past it on every roadtest now
