My dad couldn't get insured on his M3, unless it had a tracker, or he went with a dodgey company.

A Tracker is a good thing yes....BUT

Obviously, the person that stole this car is what people call ' Professional Thiefs'

Once the battery has been disconnected for 4 hours.. most trackers will be dead...

You can although get some that last 24hours but we are talking serious money.

Did it not have alarm/ immobilizer?

Sorry to hear this, im a big fan of Scoobies..... is it ok to post this on Subaru Forums near you ?? spread the word etc

Thats so not true
The only way to disable a tracker is to find the VLU and cut it out of the car. If its been well installed it could take an entire strip down of the inside of a car to locate it.

Hi Guys,

Yes the car did have a Tracker and CAT 1 alarm/immobiler and a Disc lock on the steering wheel..... But they got the keys

They broke into his house from the rear, ransacked and found the keys (which were very well hidden!) But on the way out of the house they also took a new 42" TV, DVD, Laptop, X-Box, Wii and all of his personal documents/details and a load of cash. The house is a right mess.

My mates absolutely devastated by this, the car was his pride and joy. And yes although its insured he won't get another one in fear of the same happening again.

The Tracker has been activated but until the iginition is switched on it'll do fcuk all unfortunetely. Why are they not battery backed up

Cheers for keeping an eye out guys
