[quote author=slater board=FSW thread=1200844248 post=1200844248]Well the time has come to make a change it think. The metro is AWSOME but ive done all I want to do to it and want to move on to something else.
Pretty much all you need to know is in the build thread. The car is free of ALL structural rust and only has a couple of minor areas of surface rust on the wing which needs attending too. The interior is all original an in good clean condition, only problem is a broken hinge on the glove box but it still shuts ok. Engine runs lovely although the turbo could do with a rebuild as it puffs a bit of smoke when you start it, a kit to do this is included and its EASY!. I think the thermostat is broke too but I am planning to change that next week so shouldn’t be a problem. It needs 2 front tyres which will cost you £60 a pair from mytyres!!
I use the car everyday, its been on 500mile+ road trips in sun and snow its never let me down. Its not concourse but is in very good condition for a metro! It does 35mpg and is pretty darn quick too!
You probably know the car but here’s what you’re looking at spec wise
Engine
1275cc A+ block on bottom bore size. turbo pistons, turbo crank and rods, ported turbo head with chambers opened up for 8.5:1 compression, MG size inlet valves, Piper ‘Phase 2’ turbo cam Std rockers.
T3 turbo on std manifolds, plenum modified for dump valve, RS turbo intercooler and samco hoses, in car and under bonnet bleed valve for boost control. Std turbo carb
Real turbo dizzy, silicone leads, Piper foam air filter at the front for cold air intake. metro turbo fuel pump and pressure reg.
Transmission
Jack night straight cut gear set, JK straight cut drop gears, centre oil pickup
4pin diff with rare 3.2 ‘turbo’ ratio cwp
Race spec clutch plate and orange diaphragm, light flywheel and pressure plate
Suspension
Lowered properly all round, fully poly bushed, turbo rear antiroll bar, All suspension is independent. Rear sub frame solid mounted. Front adjustable camber TCA’s
Brakes
Standard apart from green pads
Body
Standard
Interior
Standard apart from a gauge pod housing boost and oil pressure gauges. (oil temp fitted but not connected!)
Wheels
Metro Steels banded to 12x7”
165/65 Falken tyres
I need to recover the money that I spent on the gearbox (£1200+) and the engine (god knows!!) so I'm asking £2250ono just compare this to a turbo mini of the same spec. Its loads cheaper and much cooler.
I think I might regret selling it but needs must!

£2250 for a beige 1981 Metro
Would buy it though if i'd bought everything else in the world that I already want. If only because it a MK I Metro that doesn't have paper mache for sills.
