some 1 explane to me what the diffrences with 720p 1080i and 1080p is plz as ive havent got a clue  
ive notist only large tvs use 1080p
also whats the diffrence between hd dvd and blue ray

1080i mean 1080 integrated it means it draws one pixel across then 3 down

Our TV has 720p and 1080i, and I'm not sure what the advantage of one over the other is.

mine has 720p and 1080i aswell, ive only seen tvs 37" and bigger with 1080p

you wouldnt noticethe difference between 720p and 1080p at all on a smaller screen. 720p is better than 1080i imo

If you have a 720p/1080i screen it will only have enough pixels to display at the correct resolution for 720p, pick 720p on your source.

1080i displays half the screen (in bars) then the other half, very quickly of course! whereas 1080p displays it all at the same time.
there are more pixels on the screen with 1080 than 720...
but i was told on AVForums that 720p is better than 1080i, for some reason!?
so i changed my DVD player to that settings, and i suppose it is slightly better, 1080i is very sharp... ideal for displays pictures, whereas it seems 720p is slightly better for moving displays

I have 1080p and it suffers from screen burn quite alot, can get annoying when it goes from a light screen to a dark screen.

I doubt that is anything to do with it being 1080p.
What TV is it and what source are you usig.

Its interlaced Steve, integrated makes no sense if you actually think about what it means.
When you see 'integrated' on a new Tv these days it generally refering to an integrated digital Tv tuner.
You wont notice the difference between 720P and 1080I

Anybodu who says you won't know a difference between 720p and 1080i doesn't understand the differences between them imo, although this is teh fault of manufacturers for being so stupid with the way they advertise.
A guy from comet told me the same steve and he works with them all day so muct know what he is talking about.

Its interlaced, i work for pc world ( who are owned by the same company as currys). We sell loads of tvs so i need to know what im talking about.
720p - is better than 1080i because the image is drawn twice and put together side by side so its faster and still good quality.
720i , 1080i - isnt as good because its interlaced, meaning that two images are drawn but stiched together line by line. So image 1 has line 1 and image 2 has line 2 and so on.
1080p is the best quality but not many things actually support true hd...yet.
