Depends where you shop
Can easily be done - Although all the things may not be the nicest. Don't forget all the 'little' things like electrical goods/beding etc

So yeah, £4k sounds about right. I've got more appliances but I've not wasted money on silly things like a TV and dining table.

Alex, do you really need a mini beer fridge if you've got a normal fridge?

no need for a coffee table and a dining table in the saem room really, more expense and if its a flat it'll cramp things up.
bedside table seem on the expensive side.
how many measuring jugs are you getting for £30
Tea towels you can prob get cheaper.
Mini beer fridge is not needed if you have a fridge.
Toilet roll holder for £30 i'd hope it was gold plated or something
So theres a few places where money can be saved or you've maybe over budgeted
but if there are only bedroom furnishings, then you should be thinking about a cooker etc unless you live on microwave meals

I have been buying and storing the majority of your list over the last 18 months or so.
I've spent alot more than that to date, and all I need when I move out will be sofa, dining table etc...

I'm currently buying stuff for my "bottom drawer"
All of the little niggly things you essentially kind of need. I was tempted to start to buy bigger electrical goods - Although with them being electrical and me not knowing when ill be moving id just rather save and buy them when i know i need them
