What causes this - Incorrect washing techniques, incorrect drying technique. The list goes on.
Take it to a local detailer. I charge roughly £300 for a full paint correction, depending on the wax used.
Mopping is the term used by most bodyshops who often make the paintwork worse, causing buffer trails and holograms.
u2u me for more information, where about are you located?

u can get swirl marks out with hand polishing- gota be worth a try before you pay 300quid. I used auto glym and meguires (sp) on my black corsa and alot of time and energy later it is now fine ( was before the winter)

you can, but you will never get the same result as if you use a PC or rotary polisher. And you cant get the heat to break the product/polish down so you wont get the best possible results

Not really that steep for full correction.
Plus you get what you pay for.

Mopping uses an abrasive to take off the very top layer of laqueer to reveal a nice shiney fresh layer.
Correction uses poslishs and waxes to "fill" in the discrepincies (sp) in that top layer of laqueer instead

When we use the term 'mopping' we just mean using an electric mop or portable cable polisher

Its not that bad, if you consider whats done (if done properly) the guy at our work reckons on a full days plus work for a full on paint correction
Mopping and correction is basically the same. Correction is more in depth using a wider range of abrasive compounds to bring the paint work back up to its former glory.

What one to go for then would mopping be the best one? or is correction? in your opinions?

You cant mate. Many 'polishes' available on the high street contain fillers, which fill scratches.

So if they are filling the scratches they are in essence getting rid of the swirl. I see your point but I wouldnt go out and pay 300 quid without even trying myself- even if you spend a whole day on one pannel.
