lol i was only taking the piss mate.
Yeah you wouldnt be able to use it without the PAS going, you risk damaging the rack & it would be near impossible to turn.

I would go for an EPS setup from a C or a 1.0 12v or a 1.2 16 over a hydraulic setup on a conversion for ease of fitting. However, hydraulic PAS does have a better feel to it.....

this comes up all the time, basically there are a load of people who think that having PAS on an XE is for gurls looking like idiots when it comes to parking

all i have to say is get PAS ignore anyone who tells you not to, if you cant feel whats happening with your front wheels then you got some serious problems. really cant see how it detracts from the feeling

yes brand new cars have little feel but we are talkng about corsa's here

i made sure i took my power steering across on my corsa and it has not taken from my driving experience at all. All you need is the modified bracket and a cavalier power steering pump .......... job done. All the corsa power steering fluid pipes connect to the cavalier pump with no modification

if you use an EPS system you can get resistance controllers off ebay for kit cars so you can adjust the weight on the steering on the fly.. bit like a city button on fiats.. thats what i would be tempted with

yeah make sure you fit a split shaft that deals with torque steer at least then slow speed isnt a much of a task
