I recently purchased a Reclusa keyboard and installed the keyboard with the latest drivers from razersupport.com (v1.02). The keyboard works fine but as soon as I reboot the PC it won't go past the memtest, I am forced to plug in my old keyboard (PS/2) in and reboot. This then allows Vista to boot fine.
I've tried the following:
1. Uninstalling the Reclusa driver and software and reinstalling via the web (v1.02)
2. Uninstalling the Reclusa driver and software and reinstalling via the provided CD
3. Uninstalling the Reclusa driver and software and reinstalling via the CD and updating via the web (v1.02)
4. Disabling "Removable Device" as an option in Boot Priority (BIOS)
5. Disabling "USB Legacy Support" in BIOS
6. Allowing Microsoft to detect the driver needed after uninstalling and configure it itself
But nothing works, my PC won't boot with the Reclusa installed - it's a little frustrating having to boot with an old keyboard and then connecting the Reclusa and disconnecting the old one once i'm at the log-in page or in Vista.
If anyone could help i'd appreciate it.

Yes it's fully Vista compatible mate and windows update doesn't have anything available, even under optional for it

If you mean memtest as the POST from the bios at the start then that isn'y an os issue, either a dodgy keyboard or usb port/controller.

Do you have a USB/PS2 converter to try?.

Thats correct, its at the memtest.
Can't be a dodgy keyboard, brand new and when I boot the PC up using a PS/2 Keyboard I disconnect it, reconnect the Reclusa via USB and its perfect - does that still mean its dodgy?

Could still be dodgy.
Best way would be to try a both another usb keyboard on this pc and the keyboard on another pc.
Does it do it in all the usb ports?
Mice keyboards etc can cause loads of issues preventing pc's booting.
Definitely not an OS issue though.

I'll try another USB port, only kept it the same due to some firmware that was installed being port specific apparently.
Will try it in another port and then another PC and report back Thanks John

Does it do it in the other ports. if it does i'd have to take an educated guess at the keyboard.
If it did update any firmware when you installed the drivers this could have caused the problem.

I connect it to all the other ports and it won't go passed the memtest.
Going to try and uninstall completely again and reinstall after plugging it into another port.

if its failing at POST its not a driver or any type of software issue, has to be a driver issue.
Possibly try looking for bios updates in case there has been a fix at any point.

There is an update for my Mobo, will it wipe the BIOS though and return it to default?
Also, didn't get the first sentence, you contradicted yourself
Appreciate the help by the way, MS are useless.

Yes I did, should say has to be a hardware issue.
BIOS updates these days kep the settings I think but this could vary from bios to bios so i wouldn't like to say.
I'd try it on another system first though.

I've got the Habu mouse also, just tried installing that after removing the Reclusa completely....
Same fucking issue, as soon as i Remove the USB at memtest with the old PS/2 keyboard in it goes through fine
Load the PC up, plug it in and it works fine, so fucking annoying.

Can you even get a hold of another usb keyboard/mouse?
What about a random usb device, will the pc boot with a random usb device plugged in.
Any options in the bios relating to usb mouse/keyboards?

I've got a working keyboard (PS/2) and mouse (USB) which it boots fine with, was just playing around with the new Habu mouse (plugged in once windows had booted) and blue screened Vista.
Mentioned within it the need for a BIOS update, my MOBO is a Asus striker extreme n680i and Nvidia informed me via their website its driver is out of date. My only concern is its OC'd and I don't want to lose the settings.
Random USB- yeah my PC boots fine with a portable HD, a media reader, a scanner....

Edit: Just checked on Nvidia's site again and apparently now it has the latest mobo drivers, a few weeks back it didnt and I haven't installed any
Further Edit: Upon using Nvidias tool to select Mobo updates manually, I chose 680i and Vista 64bit .etc then it shows:
nForce 750i SLI v. 15.08
Supported products: 750i not 680i?

Apart from updating bios's etc there's not much more can be done until it's narrowed to devices or pc.

Either usb controller on the pc or compatibility issues between the motherboard and devices then.

would it be USB controller if other devices boot fine e.g. previous mouse, hard drive .etc
Mobo and device issue... is that a case of mobo driver update?

More likely a compatability issue than anything being faulty.
Only way around would be some sort of bios update or maybe different firmware for the mouse and keyboard.
Very strange that it happens with both and not just one though.
