I live this way. Where abouts are you working exactly, and what sort of budget?
Some very very nice areas (Im talking millions for a house) and some total shit holes too, sp really depends what you have to spend.

I'd be working in Whittle-Le-Woods, it's between Chorley and Preston.
I'd be looking to rent and realistically £500 pcm is max as I'm only on internship wages.

I think she is moving onto Buckshaw Village isnt she?
^^ That is one option for you Sam. Its a massive development (biggest of its kind in the UK IIRC) and is basically a whole new village with new schools, new train station, etc. etc. Loads of houses and apartments available for rent too. Not far from Whittle Le Woods aswell.
Whittle le Woods is a decent area though, some really expensive houses up on the hills heading towards Chorley.

Preston and Chorley.
Manchester is the only city centre I like, all the rest intimidate me, or are total shit holes.

What rough areas of Preston do you know...out of interest!
And Chorley has some exceptionally nice and expensive places...although the town centre is a little scratty.
