Off the top of my head guy's i can't see that've been in previous squads (could be possibly injured); Parker, Barton, Campbell, Robinson, Dyer, Huddlestone, King, Bent, Pennant, Johnson, Ashton

Downing has been called up loads anyway before capello came in.
And he has the right to try new players, just because they don't play for the massive clubs doesn't mean they don't deserve a shot at playing with englands best.

Doesn't really play enough for United tbh, and also, i'm not sure where he would fit in with Gerrard and Hargreaves in the middle seeming like the ideal setup, granted he deserves to be in the squad though
