Righty, so on the 8th Feb a car stopped in front of me that I couldn't see due to the crazy sun glare off the road, and I ended up piling into the back and writing my car off as a Catergory C It's an R reg Arden Blue Breeze 1.4 8v
So I thought I'd document it's return to glory. Don't expect any amazing mods in this post or anything, in fact this is going to be really tame in comparison to the crrraazy projects elsewhere! I just want the thing running/not looking too shabby!
But here we go..
What it looked like before:
Post-bump:
Damage:
-driver side wing
-bumper
-bonnet
-depo's
-grille
-slam panel
-bumper bar
-radiator
-radiator mounts etc
-power steering fluid reservoir
-seat belt tensioners (fired)
-various mounts etc I imagine
Thanks to my brother, also a member on here as sxibeast, who is doing the majority of the work, guiding me through it!
More to follow when I get the chance!

mine was almost exactly like that
shame it went thru insurance tho mate (cat C)
new slam panel
new bonnet
new bumper
new grille
new rad
(new air con rad in my case too)
new headlights
BUT: if you love this car stick with it... you'll get a great sense of achievement by bringing it back from the dead like i did

unlucky mate, shouldn't be too difficult to repair though
only thing i find strange is that you couldn't see a car stopped in front of you?

Glare on the windscreen, quite easily done, fortunately when I've had it there hasn't been a car infront of me!
Good luck with the restoration.
One thing though, would it not possibly be cheaper to buy another Arden Blue Corsa and swap the bits over? Corsa's aren't exactly expensive these days!

well it happened pretty easily
Anyway, a little update..
Outer wings removed along with radiator, fan.
Quick little play with newly purchased gsi bumper to see the shape car will take. If you squint really hard and imagine it blue with wings then you're almost there
Meanwhile on the inside, removal of everything breeze patterered begins inc fired pretensioners.
Sport back bench in along with front doorcards. The back ones had been screwed up by the seller so a couple of black ones from ebay with 6x9 holes will be going in. Richbrook door pins also in. 'Obtained' a front fog light switch for the gsi bumper from a scrappy around this time too.
Various bits to improve the standard audio set up to go in, most bought off ebay nice and cheap, brand new though. Plus a steering wheel and pedals I got for my birthday
Back to the exterior, slam panel is finally removed and new one welded on.
Looking a bit better:
The welding/angle grinding that took place marked it though so those areas were sanded, primered then given the classic jezza has never painted in his life treatment. Behold. thankfully it won't show:
And that's where things stand at the moment.

Cheers I think I've acquired just about everything I need part wise - new radiator is sitting in the boot, fan is fixed on, got a power steering fluid reservoir from another chap on here, that's all waiting to go in. Got a couple of pairs of standard headlights, one of which will go on until I've bought depos from Dave A.
The purple bonnet is annoying me though - it's only a placeholder until I can find an arden blue one but they're like goldust I tell you!
Spent about £20 at vaux just getting little plastic clips etc, probably a few lying undiscovered that I still need though.

Rad/fan back in. power steering fluid reservoir back in, and bumper bar back on. Horn as well - not sure if it works or not yet though!
Note the purple wing/white bumper.. this'll get painted!
Next up is to sort out the bracket for the temperature sensor, foglight wiring, stick some fluids back in, then all the interior stuff.
and anyone with an arden blue bonnet - u2u me!

It's really rusty underneath, nicked it off my mate's scrapped corsa, not in good con at all. And there's a nice dent in the top!
