Anybody any soundclips of one on a 1.6 sport?
They sound decent/good for gains?
I have a custom de-cat full system from ExhaustsUK but want to ditch it in favour of a magnex.
Cheers

I have a magnex catback on my GSi, and you cant hear it at all.
You dont notice any gains eathier with a standard inlet.

best exhaust ive heard of is the vortex exhaust.
but they are made by a custom exhaust place in london and are very very expensive.

Ive had a magnex cat back exhaust on my corsa for 5 years now and I think its great. not too loud but you get a nice rumble on tickover and a nice tone on acceleration. Cant be doing with loud ones that give you a headache.
I might be able to get a video of it on my LET, sounds about the same on tickover

yes, I have done a few of these now, very good silencers but very expensive! they are aimed more at motorsport and similar applications.

cheers.

Most off the shelf are poor fitments IMO, in the way they dont point out straight, stick out to far etc, id go custom on a corsa everytime.

its a custom made manifold with 2.5" bore, 2.5" system with large 5" middle box and an 18" x 6" round rear box. and its still rather noisy.

didn't expect that reply! I have a custom one on at the moment that I like, just thought off the shelf items were better.

TBH the system from exhaustsuk you have will be better than most 'off the shelf' ones.

'off the self' systems are usally less expensive than a good custom system.
thats the only reason people buy them.
custom you can pick looks, sounds, performance.
off the shelf = word of mouth

Its not meant to be boyracer loud, it just provides a nice deep drone on de-acceleration.
Had my rear cans on 7 years now, don't know many other "performance" exhausts that have lasted that long. You pay for quality.
And "back in the day" we had numerous RR that proved the CAT back Magnex gave around 4-6bhp (depending on engine, condition etc) on a standard engine.

This is my current one:
Sounds just right imo, a nice deep bass tone and sounds nicer on acceleration. going to save the money I was going to spend on an exhaust and put it towards a dbilas/mantzel inlet

Just wanted to know if the off the shelf systems were better for power gains and if so which one, that was all really.

No aftermarket exhaust on these little hatches are really worth the money in my opinion. But i dont like me scorpain! (nice and quiet on crusing like the standard car, and nice deep tone of throttle) Only ting i dont like is my dtm back box but the actually exhaust is good allrounder!
