Just taking it steady, dont want to rush anything and spoil it :-)

Had the ususal rust around the wiper and a few other spots, sorted them out.
Got round to painting it and sods law it started pissing it down!
Its on my list of jobs to do, will most likely get my mate to do it at his body shop.

Well there has been a hell of a lot of changes since I last updated!!
Ill be cracking-on with getting them up on here ASAP when time allows.
For now, take a look at the new wheels:
I've been after a set for a while now, but all the sets I kept finding where miles away! :-(
But I happened to stumble across a set about half an hour away from so decided to snap them up!
They're the Cavalier Cesaro wheels (I seem to have a thing for Cav wheels :-s lol)
First things first, gave them a good wash. Nice and straight, with minimal kerbing:
Began rubbing them down with the D.A. sander and by hand with various grades of wet & dry paper:
I was able to eliminate most of the kerbing marks using the DA, but there were a couple that were slightly deeper. They may only seem slight, but they're there!!:
Epoxy resin was mixed up and used to fill the marks:
This was then left to harder overnight to allow me to blend it in smooth to the rest of the paintwork:
After masking the face which contact the hub/drum the wheels were then ready for priming:
Once primed there were a few slight marks that were noiticable (could'nt be seen in pictures), so i used filler primer to build it up the affected areas to enable me to flat them out once the primer had dried:
The colour was then decided.. BMW Jet Black. First I painted the insides (dont worry, they wernt painted in my living room!):
Then started on the outer faces. First coat:
Lovely fresh paint:
The paint once dried:
Then off to Pendle Motorcycles I went and purchased some stubby bike tyre valves. Bit tidyer looking than long car ones:
At the same place I also purchased some red reflective rim tape:
Allowed the paint to harden for a few days, then attacked the wheels with a super-fine grade of wet & dry paper, along with a variety of cutting compounds (Farecla G3, AutoGlym products ect) to ensure the paint was as smooth as glass. After that I applied a few coats of SmartWax Rim Way to protect from brake dust and give more shine.
The finished product:
Reflection, YO!:
Opinions? B)
