Just having a debate with my mate (Man U Fan) and hes trying to say hes never rated him. It all came about after he was saying he wouldnt be bothered if he did play tonight as he feels he wouldnt have much effect.
I just had to laugh, granted i dont feel hes played to his ful potential in the spanish league but he is world class.
Talk away.

Seems to have dropped quite a bit since leaving arsenal but still a top player.
Think Messi is the main threat tonight tho

Best player to ever grace the Premiership in my, admittedly biased, eyes
Should shine tonight against known opposition but serious serious injury problems and being played out of position in an unconfident team havent helped him this season

I just dont think hes settled to the spanish way of football personally, speed of the Premiership suited him down to the ground.
Be interesting to see tonight if the reports are correct about him not starting or if its abit or mind game, Messi will be a big threat, but hes on a yellow card too, just hope that doesnt burden his performance to much.

As soon as he says he never rated him i'd have just laughed and walked away. He's won everything, and been a major part of the teams that have done so, in the game barring the Champions League and there's still plenty time!

Messi coming back from 6 weeks out on a yellow card should see him being less of a threat than usual I reckon

biased granted but i dont think you will find many that disagree with you matey! in my opinion, he changed the premiership for the better. i looked forward to watching him play.

And if not for a couple of dodgy misses he would have probably captained a 10 man side to CL victory against all odds too!

Cantona, Shearer, Henry, Bergkamp and Zola... the biggest Prem legends IMO

i hate him, don't know why, just never liked him. he is however an awesome player when hes on form, his goal against celtic was top drawer finishing. in saying that he did fuck all against rangers at ibrox. he's just become inconsistant at barca whereas when he was with arsenal he never missed a beat.

He seems to have a serious serious chronic back problem that may never be cured so this may turn out to be the best sale since Anelka/Overmars/Petit!
Both Overmars and Petit had severe career ending injuries when they left and never did better... Henry seems to be going the same way

........................................................................................
Paul says:
another thing with him was he didnt perform in the national team and he sucked in europe iirc?
Paul says:

Paul says:

correct john, i have never rated him as a top draw player. yeah he is good but not worth all the hype people give him. thats my opinion and i stick to it
when he was in the premiership with arsenal he had a great squad behind him. he wasnt a one man band. he was part of the team and this showed in the results they got in here years of domination over the premiership!
i said to john how he is alike with liverpool. as a general rule they play brillant in europe. in the premiership they are just above avergae. thats how i see henry
of course thats just, my opinion
someone mentioned bergkamp? i certainly wouldnt call him a premiership legend. especially not in the same league as zola / cantona. when i think of legends i think of those calibre of players
