Bit of a waste of time & money tbh, just go easy for the last few miles of a journey, or let it cool down before turning it off.

Yeah my HKS one done that ho-hum - it was a pain in the arse!! Wouldnt have one again, only use in the end was I could start up in winter when the car was frozen, set it for 10 minutes - lock the doors & go back to bed for a bit.....nice tosty car for jumping into But then a clifford with remote start does that but without even needing to go outside!!

In the winter I go out, turn the car on, go back in to do what i'm doing and it's nice and warm without a turbo timer

With the keys in the ignition though, not sure id feel comfortable doing that, wifes car down the road got nicked when she left the keys in it running & ran in the house

I do leave it with the keys in the ignition but just use the spare to lock the door if you're worried about it getting bumped

Fair enough.

If you stay in a jakey area do not leave the keys in the ignition while not watching the car.

the water will stay hot but the oil cools down and also it's to let the turbo slow down but that should only take about 10 seconds

My Mr2 came with a sard one. It pissed me off so I took it out. Just drive off boost for a few minutes before turning the engine off.

random question... does a turbo timer keep the engine running or just the turbo spinning?

saw an imprezza the other day which i assume had one has his engine was running then went of while he was out the car... but could of been the person inside the car that turned it off

never really understood what they do

keeps the engine running

Most modern cars have secondary pumps anyway

the TT had one that ran for 10 minutes after cutting the engine to feed oil to the turbo
