I was at the local retail park around 3pm, and I wanted to pop into Chiquitos because there was something of urgency I had to sort out with a friend. Anyway, knowing I couldn't stay long (as I was on my lunch break) and the fact that the whole retail car park was full, I parked near the resteraunt at the side of the road. Now I have to stress, my car was not in anyway blocking the 'flow of traffic' and as the picture is old, where I was parked, the space has been extended outwards slightly.

Anyway, I was inside for about 10 minutes, and when I came out I found a parking ticket on my windscreen. Now i've had parking tickets before, but this was different. They usually give you a number to phone to pay the fine (£30) but in this parking notice, it gave me a small green sheet of paper with my reg, and the "Parked In A Disabled" box ticked. No number to phone, but a paragraph telling me that I should recieve my fine in the post, and it would be £95... What can I do to dispute this? I know I shouldn't of parked there, but it really was a matter of urgency.

RED = Chiquitos
GREEN = My car

can you scan in the ticket for me?

If its not a local authority parking place then you don't have to pay, you will get threat letters but they cant do anything to you legally.

yeah just ignore it if its not from a council. i presume its a private shopping centre so they probably have their own "parking attendants"

Sounds like its a private car park, dont think they can do much if you dont pay, but may take things further if they spot your car parked there next time (ie. booted)

Looks like a private company, if it was the local authority, it would be white with yellow and black chequers around it and police written on it.

Sucks don't it mate I wouldn't of even contensted if it was the bog standard £30 fine, but £95 is a lot of money... I can't justify paying that for 10 minutes.

I read the post without looking at the username (just the clown avtar) and assumed Cosmo had replied to himself... Then I realised. After that though, I went to check it was actually Cosmo who replied in the topic. A lot has happened in the week I've been away

as said dont pay it, if its council then its civil law and in that the registered keeper of the car has to say who was driving or cops for it anyway. Non council parking firms that try and look all official the law is contract law, but to be in a contract you have to enter it, however in this law the registered keeper is not legally bound to say who it was. So unless they have you on camera all time stamped etc to prove it was you driving in a court, then you can simply say "don't know who was driving, unless you do, stop sending me letters"
