The speedo take the reading from the diff so if thats registering a speed then the clutch and most of the gearbox is fine, so theres either a problem with the dif whech is quite unlikely or one of the CVs has popped out again or snapped. Need to get under the car really hand have a good look

Start the car with it in 3rd gear or something so the speedo is showing a speed then look underneath and see if anything us turning

someone told me the ratio's are to short too,, & luke the speedo only goes up when revving like you would normally pull off and gradully build speed with throttle, thats what it does, but when your not moving, ill check that in a sec too if you understand

& ainsley what the cvs look like ill go have a look now & weres the gearbox code ill get that too

people must think im weird keep running outside looking underneath & running back indoors, haha

i got the car kinda cheap imo but i can feel its going to cost me money

cvs are the joints on the end of the driveshafts

gearbox code will be fand 2 numbers hopefully somewhere around the gear selector turret on the top of the gearbox

If you use a higher gear you should register a speed even on tickover RPM but it shouldnt really matter as long as its in gear.

CV joints are the flexible joints on either end of the driveshaft, they should be turning while the engine is running and its in gear. If theyre not then either ones popped out or your diff has had it

the differential (dif) is inside the gearbox

Diff is inside the gearbos, its what you push the CV joints into. If the CVs arent turning and you are absolutley sure they are in right then the end could have sheared off one of the CV joints.

Nothing to lose though so give em a good hard knock with the screwdriver and hammer
