well a full system is going to be more then a back box as you probly know full system is from the cat back or you can get rid of the cat,as for the centre box its the box in the centre of th exhaust help to keep it queit but you can also take that out and have a stright tho pipe depens on what sound your after really
i like magnex some people with say if you get the money got for a custom made one
but your prob looking round the 250 mark for a full system made of stainless steel and less if it out of mild steel and if you just want a back box then anything from 120 to 160 i think, custom made onw will be 30/350 upwords

Mines quiet with standard airbox on, with drilled airbox its perfect imo.

Full system? this consists of the middle box (from cat to backbox) and backbox.
Off the shelf expect to pay around £250 - £300. Although, you may aswell go custom for a few extra quid and choose the sound you want.
May aswell add a de-cat while you're there. This goes from the down pipe to middle box, and, obviously, removes the cat, which, will make it louder. But as down point, it will fail the MOT on emissions. You can buy de-cats for around £30 - £60 on the bay.
For a backbox, if you go custom (obviously, you can choose the sound) it'll be around £140, and a off the shelf one will be around £80 - £100 for a decent one.

used to have a 4-1 manifold, with hoffman 200cpi sportcat, jansport center and rear, 3" round tail pipe... Sounded nice, i can garantie you will get bored with a loud system... Everywhere you go "bwwwarp" so agrivating, its nicer to have one that gives a nice note when higher up the rev range...

Haha, that means nothing to me!
And i know what you mean, i dont want it too loud, not chavy. My old 1.2 8v had a pipercross back box that sounded nice, just didnt do much for the 1.2!

Right, here's a full system -

As you can see, it consists of a backbox and middle box, just after the exhaust clamp is where the backbox ends, and the middlebox starts. Normal middlebox's have a silencer so they're not loud, but i'm 'ard and had mine made without

Ahhh ok then, i get it.
Well i would definatly want a new backbox, the car has just had a total new exhaust system fitted a few months back, i think it was just a standard one tho (only bought the car last month)
So not sure weather i would need the middle box

Considering it's a 1.6, i'd personally leave the middle box, and just get a de-cat. Will Sound nice then when you open the taps.

sorry but i must clear something up. a full system is not a cat back.
a full system will consist of manifold/downpipe and possibly a sport cat or a cat replacement pipe aswell as the centre box andback box.
a cat back will just be the part of the exhaust from the catalytic converter back which is the centre box and back box.
a backbox is, well obvious really

was looking for a mongoose for the focus. cat back is clearly different to full system.
Cat back exhaust system - excludes downpipe and cat replacement pipe
Large 76mm (3") bore stainless exhaust system
Full turbo back system including downpipe and cat replacement pipe - will not pass MOT
taken from mongoose website

It may be different for turbo
I was always under the impression a full system was cat-back. May be wrong though.

So for my 1.6 you reckon just getting a backbox would be worth it, with a decat? or what
