Hi guys, after selling my Astra SRI CDTI for a nice profit I decided to get the Golf. Always wanted one and although it was a little more than I wanted to pay, with only 6k on the clock i couldnt say no!! Pics-

And with the help off ebay I've already picked up these bargain beauties:

Bargain at only £21

Only £100 but badly kerbed and only 1 good tyre. Going to take my time refurbing them, may do something different with them. And these.....

These beuts were £500 so it would have been rude not to

Plans are colour-code handles and rubstrips, GTI sideskirts, debadge, lower 35mm and get the rims and splitter on!

FINALLY some updates! Been busy with holidays, running two football teams and being ill for the last few weeks! Only a few little things but its a start and hoping to press on in the next few weeks!

Heres goes:

Fitted the colour-coded door handles and removed the 1.6 FSI badges. Golf lettering will be removed once my thumb has recovered from peeling off the glue

Made a start on painting the calipers and theres a pic of my nearly refurbed GTI alloys.

The BBS rims have been sold but at a £300 profit
MOT is due this week so hopefully will be lowered at the same time

Another late update

Right, after refurbing the 17" Monza's I decided to sell them whilst they were mint. Total cost of buying them and refurbing £150. Sold the alloys and the 1 good tyre for.........£350!! to say the least!

Using that money I re-purchased a set of BBS Edition 30s brand new for cheaper than the last lot! Same as these-

Also got my lowering springs, brand new Koni's

And some GTI interior for a bargain £175

Also got a GTI headlight for £12.50, watching a few for the other side

Still got to remove/colour-code the rusbtrips then it'll be lowered with the rims on, get and fit a GTI rear valance then the GTI exhaust I have will be on. Get the splitter fitted then i'll decide on what needs doing next

Yep, but uses f**k all petrol and good for crusing at decent speed on the motorway. Gearbox is lovely for around town driving and 6 speed is good for my trips to Liverpool and back. l contemplated selling for a GTI but cheap running costs are key

I spend my quiet days at work scouring Ebay, search the word 'golf' as some people list their items the worst!

Just won the other headlight for £36 GTI headlights for £48

£95 I could have done without as i just bought a laptop last night but can say no to a bargain!

Bit of an Ebay guru aren't you?! Bargains!!

All looks good though, so can't wait to see this come together.

Tip for removing the Golf Badge - gently heat with heat gun for around 20 seconds, peel off badge and most the glue, then just pick last bit off
