Just went to London and back from Llandudno. 500 miles and the light has just come on. Drove like a faggot though.

Got to be a record for a 1.4 corsa

put in a full tank of petrol, press the button on your clocks to reset the mileage counter and off you go.

then what, run the tank till its empty which means ill have to carry a billy can in my boot and make the car stink, which will also suck the crap at the bottom of the petrol tank, and i could run out on a busy road and look a idiot

no, wait until the petrol light comes on and you'll note down the mileage you got then add 50 miles to account for the petrol still left in it.

then fill up

I was using £10 a day in the Fiesta, that's about 16.25mpg, so a tank would last me 145 miles

No, drive it a certain amount of miles (100 maybe) then fill up, see how many litres you got til it was full, then do some maths to work out how many miiles you'd get to the full tank....
